What is Guanín?

The Guanín Center (Fundación Centro Cultural Guanín, Inc.) is a nonprofit organization based in La Piedra, Dominican Republic. It provides bilingual education, healthcare, cultural activities, gender equality initiatives, community development programs, as well as socioeconomic development and clean water projects. For instance, it organizes medical missions, other relief efforts, and youth summer camps. Recently, thanks to donations from Germany and the USA, a health center was established, providing basic medical care to the village residents.

You possess:

• A completed or ongoing degree in Business Administration, Law, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or similar fields.

• Leadership skills and experience in teamwork.

• Initiative and the ability to propose and implement new ideas.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.

• The willingness to dedicate time and energy to board activities for a term of at least one year.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with fellow board members to set and achieve organizational goals.

• Representing Guanín in various forums, both locally and internationally.

• Initiating and overseeing projects that advance Guanín’s mission and objectives.

• Actively participating in the organization’s regular meetings.
