Guanin Summer Camp 2026: First Week of Joy, Learning, and Community.

The first week of the Guanin Summer Camp 2026 has been a tremendous success, bringing joy, learning, and unforgettable experiences to 50 children ages 5 to 13 from La Piedra and surrounding communities.

For many of these children, this is one of their few opportunities to participate in a summer camp and, for a large majority, the Guanin Summer Camp is their main opportunity to enjoy an experience like this—completely free of charge.

Throughout the week, the children participated in arts and crafts, painting, music, sports, English, cultural activities, health and dental services, teamwork, and recreational activities, while receiving snacks and lunch each day. Our goal is not simply to entertain, but to provide a safe environment where children can learn, build confidence, develop social skills, and enjoy being children.

A Community Working Together

Behind every smile is a significant amount of planning, sacrifice, coordination, and hard work by the Guanin team. Organizing a free summer camp requires much more than activities. It requires securing resources, preparing materials, coordinating volunteers, providing food, maintaining a safe environment, and managing every detail of the program.

We are deeply grateful to the individuals, families, organizations, businesses, volunteers, and donors who have contributed both financially and through donations in kind. Their support has helped provide educational and art supplies, sports equipment, food, shoes, school supplies, health resources, and other essential materials.

Every contribution becomes something tangible for a child—a meal, a soccer ball, an art supply, a new pair of shoes, an opportunity to learn, or simply a reason to smile.

Building Trust Through Community Policing

One of the highlights of the first week was the participation of the Community Police, who joined us to interact with the children and the community.

This was more than an institutional visit. It was an opportunity to build trust between law enforcement and the community, especially among the younger generation.

For Guanin, community policing represents an important step toward a modern approach to public safety—one based not only on responding to problems, but also on prevention, education, communication, and trust.

We sincerely thank the Director of the National Police and the members of the Community Police for joining us and sharing this important experience with our children.

The Camp Continues

The first week is over, but the Guanin Summer Camp 2026 is just beginning.

Our goal is to reach 150 children over the three-week program, providing each group with a safe, educational, and enriching experience.

Guanin is proud to lead this effort and grateful to everyone who is helping make it possible.

A summer camp may last only a few weeks, but a positive experience during childhood can last a lifetime.
